Lecture course for General Dentist Practitioners

This workshop will provide a beginners guide to incorporating digital photography into your practice. Learn how to show patients their dental problems without making them feel confronted or defensive. Then imagine that very same patient asking you how to fix these problems, without having to “sell” anything! Find out how the use of digital photography can allow you to achieve this in your own practice. Whether you’re a recent graduate or have been practicing 40+ years, there is a way to energize your practice using digital photography. Learn how digital photography can lead to more comprehensive treatment planning and higher case acceptance.

This hands-on course is designed with an emphasis on getting great photographic images before learning the technology of image editing and case presentation. You will gain the proficiency and confidence you need to implement dental photography successfully when you return to you office. Past photographic experience is not necessary. Here is what you will learn:

Basic principles of dental photography for easy, accurate and consistent results

Identify key features you must look for when purchasing a camera and choosing the right camera

How to set up your camera for diagnostic dental images

Keys to capturing diagnostic portrait, smile and retracted views of your patients

How to avoid the pitfalls that could inadvertently and permanently ruin your images

You are welcome to bring along your own cameras and laptop computers for the course.

About the Presenter: Dr Dylan Yung graduated from the University of Otago with his BDS in 1992. He brings to you a wealth of knowledge from his extensive training abroad at the Fahl Centre for Aesthetic Dentistry (Brazil), the Kois Centre, UCLA & the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (USA) where he is also a clinical instructor. Dylan is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry & the NZ Dental Association. Dr Dylan Yung  maintains private practice in Newmarket, Auckland with a focus on reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry.
