Single tooth Implant Prosthetics - Update on NobelBiocare System

This course is aimed at those general practitioners who would like to start restoring dental implants in their practice, but have previously had only limited or no experience.  The focus is on abutment and crown selection for single tooth and small bridge unit implant cases using the Nobel Biocare system.  This course includes a hands on component on models so clinicians get the chance to handle the componentry (impression copings / definitive abutments).  The course has been designed to assist participants with incorporating dental implant restoration into their practice, with practical and easy to follow guidelines that you can apply immediately.

This course will cover:

  • Overview on restoring NobelBiocare (NBC) implants, including conical connection and tri-lobe (select) connections for single tooth and small bridge units.
  • Fixture Head Impression: How to obtain predictable fixutre head impressions of a single tooth dental implants.  Choosing the appropriate final crown restoration for your implant.  Working together with the dental technician.  This lecture will include hands on demonstration on models.
  • Definitive Restoration:  Final abutment selection (stock abutments, custom abutments), screw retained vs. cement retained crowns.  Angulated Screw Channel (ASC) crowns.  How and what to check on the completed lab work, checking and fitting the definitive restoration, potential problems and pitfalls and how to avoid them during the fitting of the final abutment / crown.

Clinical Support:

Unique to this course is the clinical mentorship abailable with Dr Danesh-Meyer at Institute of Dental Implants & Periodontics for participant that have enrolled for this course and are restoring their first dental implant case.  This includes clinical supervision / guidance for fixture head impression and placement of the definitive restoration on your first case.  One-on-one clinical sessions will be arranged individually with course participants.  All participants will also receive a course folder containing lecture notes, relevant articles from the literature, step-by-step reference guids, course certificate and NZDA CE credit.

About the Presenter:

Dr Michael Danesh-Meyer is a Specialist Periodontist and is Director at Institute of Dental Implants & Periodontics in Newmarket, Auckland.  Prior to establishing the institute, Dr Danesh-Meyer was a Clinical Assistant Professor and Research Assistant in the Department of Periodontology at Temple University, School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, USA.  He has taught implant dentistry and periodontics at postgraduate level and has authored numerous scientific articles and lectures, both nationally and internationally on implant dentistry and tissue regenerative theraphy.
