This 1/2 day workshop will provide a beginner’s guide to using dental implants for overdentures in the mandibular arch. The course will cover case selection, case work-up, surgical and prosthetic techniques involved in providing mandibular implant overdentures. The course will examine in detail the use of the Locator attachment system and the benefits of this prosthetic attachment. This course has been designed principally for general dentists and dental technicians either involved with implant overdentures or wanting to incorporate implant overdentures into their practice. The demand for support for lower dentures in particular is growing and the tremendous benefits that it provides patients makes this a very rewarding area of dentistry.
Hands-on component of the course will include taking a pick-up impression of the locator attachment and understanding the laboratory phase of treatment using the patient’s existing dentures or new dentures. Hands-on exercises will allow participants to familiarize themselves with the various implant/ prosthetic components with prosthetic training kits.
